Andorra's large retail outlets recorded a 4.8% rise in sales at current prices in July compared to the same month in 2025, driven mainly by non-food products, while smaller retail businesses saw a slight overall increase offset by inflation, according to data released on Monday by the Department of Statistics.

For large commercial surfaces, the growth at current prices reflected a 13% jump in non-food items, though food sales dipped 1.6%. Adjusting for inflation, the real increase moderated to 1.6%, with food sales down 3.6% and non-food up 9%. Compared to June, sales at current prices rose 15.4%, though the figures do not account for seasonal or calendar effects.

Smaller retail outlets posted a 0.5% gain at current prices year-on-year, boosted by an 18.3% surge in fuels and an 4.1% rise in food, despite a 7.6% drop in other products. After stripping out inflation, however, sales fell 2.6%, with non-food items declining 10.9%, food up 1.9%, and fuels increasing 5.1%. Monthly figures against June showed a 17.3% rise at current prices and 18.4% at constant prices.

Employment trends were positive across both sectors. Large outlets saw a 2.5% year-on-year increase in staff, reaching an index of 103.5 from 101, with a 2.6% rise from June. Women made up 64.3% of the workforce, men 35.7%, and full-time workers rose to 91.3% from 89.3% a year earlier.
