Internet data consumption in Andorra rose 9.1% year on year in September 2026, reaching 14.61 million gigabytes, while traditional voice traffic fell 10.8%, according to figures published by the Departament d'Estadística based on data from Andorra Telecom.
Voice traffic excluding internet totalled 9.41 million minutes for the month. The decline was felt on both domestic and international routes, though the drop was sharper abroad: national calls accounted for 7.38 million minutes, or 78.4% of the total, a 7.2% decrease compared with September 2025, while international traffic came to 2.03 million minutes, or 21.6% of the total, after falling 22% year on year.
The most striking growth came in mobile internet traffic, which climbed 28.4% from 535,521 GB in September 2025 to 687,527 GB this year. Within overall internet use, domestic consumption rose 17.6% to 4.62 million GB and international traffic grew 5.6% to 9.98 million GB.
Subscriber numbers told a mixed story. Andorra ended September with 53,985 fixed-line subscriptions, up 0.3% from a year earlier, while broadband internet connections rose 2.4% to 44,313. Mobile telephony, by contrast, recorded 128,251 subscribers, a 3.6% annual reduction. That fall was driven mainly by a 23.7% drop in prepaid subscriptions, partly offset by a 5.3% increase in contract lines.
Cumulative figures for January to September reinforce the trend. Internet traffic over the first nine months of 2026 was up 5.7% on the same period of 2025, with mobile data consumption up 32.5%. Conventional telephony minutes fell 11.9%, including a 30.4% drop in international calls.
The statistics point to a continued shift in communication habits, with fewer conventional calls and growing reliance on digital services, particularly through mobile devices.
