Andorra la Vella Appoints Marta Marinello Pérez as New Tourism Coordinator

Andorra la Vella has appointed Marta Marinello Pérez as the new coordinator of the Department of Tourism and Commercial Promotion, effective 7 January 2026. She replaces Susagna Venable, who stepped down in mid-November for personal reasons.

The municipal council announced the appointment via a press release, outlining Marinello's role in advancing existing strategic projects, supporting local businesses, and increasing the parish's competitiveness and attractiveness. Priorities include maintaining close ties with the commercial sector and continuing initiatives such as *El Comerç és Capital* and *Cuinem el futur d’Andorra la Vella*, in line with the council's tourism and trade strategy.

Marinello offers more than 25 years in team management across gastronomy, tourism, and services. She has directed corporate initiatives, streamlined operations, and overseen marketing and training. For the last 20 months, she coordinated school kitchens at 12 centres for the Escola Andorrana, leading a team of 70. Before that, she served 11 years as restaurant business manager for Grup Pyrénées. Her career began with receptionist positions at Andorran hotels and a stint in the UK. A tourism graduate from Barcelona's CETT, she holds additional qualifications in gastronomic management, executive coaching, team leadership, and a master's in entrepreneurship. Marinello describes herself as proactive, organised, results-driven, positive, and collaborative. She is a board member of the Andorran Red Cross and assists with events for the Ironman group and VSL society.

Venable, recruited directly by capital councillor Sergi González, left during a pilot scheme to pedestrianise the upper stretch of Avinguda Meritxell at weekends—a programme she helped launch. Her departure coincides with her new role as chair of the parents' association at the Escola Andorrana (AMPAEA), where Marinello's school tenure ends this Wednesday.
