Creand Tech secures French certification for sustainable digital practices, praised for renewable energy

Creand Crèdit Andorrà has secured the Label Numérique Responsable certification, awarded to its technology division, Creand Tech, for exemplary digital practices.

An independent French auditing firm assessed the bank's IT operations, praising effective oversight of infrastructure, virtualization of equipment using renewable energy, and stringent internal protocols for data protection and security. The label confirms compliance with benchmarks for resource efficiency, inclusivity, transparency, and effective digital governance.

Albert Santisteve, director of technology and security at Creand Crèdit Andorrà, stated that the recognition affirms the bank's dedication to responsible digital advancement. It places Creand among Europe's trailblazing financial institutions and bolsters the reliability of its sustainability approach. "Technology only makes sense if it is sustainable," Santisteve remarked, adding that the entity plans to pursue digital transformation while reducing social and environmental effects.

Martí Alay, the bank's sustainability director, described the certification as a vital advancement in realizing Creand's purpose: a committed institution focused on sustainable expansion and the progress of Andorra and its residents. He highlighted future efforts to advance digital accountability and enhance accessibility, aiming to solidify the bank's frontrunner status in sustainability initiatives.

The certification offers a thorough evaluation of an organization's technological framework, encompassing hardware, software, and servers. This achievement represents a groundbreaking step for Andorra, bringing Creand in line with top European peers such as BNP Paribas, La Banque Postale, and Crédit Agricole. It also streamlines internal operations and refines calculations of the bank's environmental footprint, aligning with its strategic climate action goals under an ISO 14001-certified management system.
