Sant Jordi Fair Returns to Revamped Plaça del Poble with 60 Stalls and 30 Authors

The fair promotes reading and local culture in Andorra la Vella with a new layout after plaza renovations. It includes expanded stalls, book signings, and starts with poetry events on 22 April, backed by the government.

Key Points

  • Event runs 23 April, 10am-8pm, organised by Comú d’Andorra la Vella in three zones.
  • Stalls feature books, roses from bookshops, florists, institutions, schools, and cultural groups.
  • 30 authors sign books in sessions from noon to 6pm; expands on last year's participation.
  • Pre-event: 22 April poetry awards and recital at Centre Cultural La Llacuna.

The Sant Jordi Fair will return to Plaça del Poble in Andorra la Vella on 23 April from 10am to 8pm, featuring 60 stalls and a reconfigured layout across three zones following the recent plaza renovation.

Organised by the Comú d’Andorra la Vella, the event underscores efforts to encourage reading and support local culture. This year’s edition expands participation compared to last year, with stalls from institutions, schools, cultural groups, and vendors selling books and roses.

The new setup divides the space clearly. Entities and craft stands will occupy the area near the Plaça Vinyes stage. Schools and other organisations will take the central section. The main zone will host bookshops, florists, and book-signing activities.

Around 30 authors will sign copies in two sessions—from noon to 2pm and 2pm to 6pm—allowing direct interaction with readers and highlighting nearby literary talent.

Events begin the previous evening. On 22 April at 8pm, the 29th Miquel Martí i Pol poetry contest awards will be presented at the Centre Cultural La Llacuna’s act hall, followed at 8:30pm by a poetry and music recital from Més Tuc de Neu featuring Guillem Pérez Casals.

The initiative has support from the Andorran Government.
