Andorra Approves 84 Cultural Grants Worth €250,000 from 104 Applications for 2026

The Andorran government approved 84 cultural grants totaling €250,000 on Wednesday to fund projects planned for 2026, following a proposal from Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Mònica Bonell.

During the post-cabinet press conference, government spokesperson Conxita Marsol highlighted the strong interest in the program, noting that the 104 applications matched last year's volume. She said the figures "demonstrate the good health of the Principality's cultural sector." A technical committee approved 80.77% of submissions, rejecting 20 primarily for incomplete documentation or uncertain financial viability.

Administered by the Cultural Promotion Department's Action Culture Area, the grants span multiple categories in line with established criteria. Officials allocated 25 to performing arts and music projects covering creation, production, exhibition and dissemination. Another 17 went to visual and plastic arts initiatives with similar focuses.

Literary and publishing activities received 25 grants, supporting literary creation as well as translations of Andorran literature and thought into other languages. Three awards backed cultural outreach efforts linked to popular and traditional culture, while four went to private media outlets for cultural projects. The remaining 10 will promote Andorran visual and performing arts internationally.
