Workers in Andorra la Vella have installed vibrant overhead decorations along Avinguda Meritxell and Carrer Callaueta to welcome the spring-summer season and stimulate commercial and tourist activity in the parish.
The displays, part of a longstanding tradition under the Andorra la Vella en Flor initiative, add colour and festivity to key shopping areas. Avinguda Meritxell serves as one of the country's primary commercial axes, while Carrer Callaueta has gained more foot traffic since its pedestrian conversion. Each season features a fresh decorative theme, remaining in place through the end of summer into early autumn.
Installation began several days ago with metal cables strung between streetlights for support. By Thursday, the colourful overhead features were visible to pedestrians on Avinguda Meritxell, with similar setups extending to Carrer Callaueta.
Official notices in the BOPA confirm the decorations cost 89,932 euros to acquire, while the contract for installing and dismantling the support structures totals 20,883.35 euros. The displays must come down starting October 5.
