The second edition of the International Foodie Fest in Canillo concluded on Sunday with nearly 5,000 visitors, marking a 43% increase from the 3,500 attendees at last year’s event. Held over three days at the former Pla de Canillo campsite, the festival drew around 1,300 people on Friday, 2,500 on Saturday, and 1,200 on Sunday, according to the Comú de Canillo.

Organizers reported sales of 12,800 tapas, up 60% from the 8,000 sold in the previous edition, with 80% savory and 20% sweet. Eighteen restaurateurs from as many countries offered international flavors, alongside concerts, family activities, inflatables for children, workshops, and chocolate tastings.

New features this year included direct sales at stalls instead of tokens, expanded rest areas, additional water points, and a gastronomic passport to encourage sampling all options. The Coffee Corner, featuring specialty coffees and infusions, proved popular.

Àlex Kinchella, the councillor for Tourist Promotion and Commerce, called it “a spectacular success,” noting the lively atmosphere and high engagement across activities. “The site was full of life all weekend, confirming the festival’s place as a must-attend summer event,” he said.

Jordi Alcobé, the Comú’s senior consul, praised the family-friendly vibe. “People of all ages enjoyed the offerings, achieving our goal of a gathering space for food, culture, and leisure.”

Kinchella thanked participating restaurateurs, sponsors, collaborators, artists, and communal workers for their contributions. The event has established itself as a key early-summer highlight in the parish, blending global cuisine, music, and activities for all ages.
