Antoinette Rozan's 'Free XXL' Sculptures Debut on Avinguda Carlemany in Escaldes-Engordany

Avinguda Carlemany in Escaldes-Engordany welcomed two monumental sculptures by French artist Antoinette Rozan on Wednesday, transforming the avenue into an open-air showcase of contemporary art. Titled *Free XXL*, the pieces stand between Plaça de l'Església and Carrer de la Unió, where they will remain on view for six months.

Supported by Comú d'Escaldes, the project seeks to integrate modern art into daily life and enliven public spaces as dynamic cultural areas. Local officials emphasized how the sculptures symbolize the freedom to be oneself, encouraging thoughts on respect, understanding, and embracing differences. Despite sharing the same mold—a metaphor for human DNA—the figures adopt distinct poses and expressions, highlighting individual uniqueness. Rozan's vision promotes an optimistic view of human diversity and positions art as a tool for emotional links and social cohesion.

Designed with a sense of motion and lightness, the works aim to evoke feelings and foster interactions between the urban environment and those passing by, serving as striking visual and symbolic landmarks along the avenue.
