The Comú de Canillo and Regadera Foodie have announced the second edition of the International Foodie Fest, set for June 12, 13, and 14 at the former Càmping Pla de Canillo site. The event will feature 18 restaurants, each showcasing cuisine from a different country: Andorra, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, Philippines, France, India, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Lebanon, Thailand, Uruguay, the United States, and China.
Councillor for Tourist Promotion and Commerce Àlex Kinchella and project coordinator Andrea Regadera presented the festival, noting its expansion from 13 participants last year. Kinchella pointed to strong demand, with visitors able to sample varied savoury and sweet tapas alongside drinks from global cuisines.
A key change eliminates the previous token system to streamline operations and cut queues. Restaurants will handle payments directly, charging a flat €4 for each savoury or sweet tapa, while a central bar will serve drinks. Kinchella said this addresses feedback from the first edition, when high attendance outstripped supplies—some 500 portions per restaurant sold out early, prompting overnight restocking.
Regadera emphasised the event's core appeal as a culinary world tour in Canillo. New additions include a Coffee Corner with speciality coffees from various origins and infusions, plus expanded workshops and chocolate tastings. Logistical upgrades feature more tables, additional water points, and family-friendly inflatables.
Attendees can join a gastronomic passport, collecting stamps from stands for entry into prize draws backed by sponsors like City Center and Grup Rull. Four concerts, organised with the Culture and Traditions Department, will pair food with live music throughout the weekend.
The schedule runs Friday from 7pm to 11pm, Saturday from noon to 11pm, and Sunday from noon to 6pm. Organisers expect another strong turnout, with many prior participants returning, positioning the fest as a summer kickoff for the parish.
