FeMAP Early Music Festival Draws 5,000 Attendees in 15th Edition Across Pyrenees
The 15th Festival de Música Antiga del Pirineus attracted over 5,000 music lovers to 50 sold-out and high-occupancy concerts featuring 23 ensembles. Director Alfons Pérez praised the enthusiastic response and strong organization amid tourism and social outreach boosts.

The Festival de Música Antiga del Pirineus (FeMAP) concluded its 15th edition with more than 5,000 attendees at concerts across Pyrenean municipalities, including Andorra and northern Catalonia, matching levels from 2025.
Of the 50 scheduled performances, 11 sold out completely, with many others seeing high turnout. The festival ended with Bach Collegium Barcelona filling the Seminari de la Seu d’Urgell and Monestir de Sant Pere de Camprodon. The programme showcased diverse early music periods, styles and repertoires from 23 ensembles, including Ensemble Contratemps with Afro-Cuban spiritual music and Samira Kadiri & Ensemble Andalusí mixing Arab, Sephardic and European traditional songs.
In Andorra, programming grew with a debut at Santa Coloma’s Romanesque church, featuring José Hernández Pastor on 25 July, alongside events at Sant Germà church in Sant Julià de Lòria and the lakeside concert at Engolasters.
Director Alfons Pérez described the edition as “highly positive,” stating that the artistic proposals met expectations and audiences left the concerts very satisfied. Artists also praised the venues, public reception and organisation.
Tourism packs generated over 100 direct overnight stays by linking concerts with local accommodations. FeMAP Social delivered 24 free performances in elderly homes, mental health centres and spaces for underserved groups.
Public broadcasters Ràdio Nacional and Catalunya Música recorded 17 of the 23 groups’ acts to broaden access beyond the summer.
