Creand Fundació Draws 1,000 Seniors to New Tech and Leisure Courses in Andorra

Creand Fundació's new season of activities for people over 60 has attracted nearly 1,000 registrations since launching on Monday at the Espai Creand Fundació in Andorra la Vella, with several courses already fully booked.

Joan Casas, manager of the space, described the turnout as exceeding expectations. The programme offers a wide range, from language classes and mobile phone tutorials to hiking, golf and general talks on topics including financial education, health and Andorran history, which has drawn 150 participants.

New additions emphasise digital skills, such as safe internet use to counter misinformation, artificial intelligence applications and virtual reality tours of Modernist architecture. Core offerings continue, including basic computing for documents and files, IT-based memory training, graphic design and video editing.

Casas noted that the foundation adapts to trends like AI to keep seniors engaged with technology. Strong interest in language courses, mobile sessions, AI workshops and history talks has led to waiting lists and plans for additional sessions.

Retiree Toni Masip, who joined in 2013, previously participated in hikes and this year enrolled in Catalan classes to improve his spelling. He said his generation grew up speaking the language without formal instruction.

Francesc Infante, back for advanced mobile phone training, praised the instructors for clearly demonstrating features he had missed, in an approachable manner.

The initiative, which began this week, underscores sustained demand for both leisure pursuits and tech literacy among older residents.
