The Catalan government's delegation in Andorra will mark this year's National Day of Catalonia on 11 September with a special concert honouring Antoni Gaudí, on the centenary of the architect's death.
Titled Gaudí en notes i línies. Una vida amb música catalana, the event features tenor Jordi Cortada and pianist Josep Buforn. It is scheduled for Wednesday, 9 September, at 7:30pm in the Auditori Rocafort at the Centre Cultural Lauredià in Sant Julià de Lòria.
The programme traces key stages of Gaudí's life—from his childhood and education, through the modernist explosion and his creative peak, to his spiritual legacy. It blends music by composers linked to Catalonia's late 19th- and early 20th-century cultural scene, including Amadeu Vives, Enric Granados, Isabel Güell, Enric Morera, Eduard Toldrà and Robert Gerhard. Recited texts come from contemporaries and friends such as Jacint Verdaguer, Josep Maria de Sagarra, Apel·les Mestres, Josep Carner, Àngel Guimerà, Joan Maragall, Víctor Balaguer and Josep Maria López-Picó.
