Sant Julià de Lòria Hosts 9th Week for Seniors with Sports, Culture and More

Sant Julià de Lòria is hosting the ninth edition of the Week for Seniors from September 28 to October 3, with a diverse lineup of activities for those over 60 that blends sports, health, culture, music, gastronomy and technology.

The established event, which attracted more than 200 participants last year, opens on Monday, September 28, with a music and creativity workshop run by Àlex Arajol and Jordi Albelda of the Fundació ONCA. That afternoon features a talk on vertigo, its causes, prevention and the role of hearing, delivered by otorrinolaringologist Dr. Paola Santos Acosta of Vitalplus Consultori de Medicina Integral.

Tuesday focuses on sports and culture through an aquagym session, a theatrical tour of local homes and streets, and a technology-based entertainment activity.

On Wednesday, September 30, participants visit the Xocland chocolate factory in La Massana to explore production methods. The afternoon brings a tribute at Centre Cultural Lauredià for residents over 80.

Thursday, October 1, marks the International Day of Older Persons with a special mass featuring the Musicalmix group and Coral de la Llar de Lòria, followed by a celebratory lunch at Llar de Lòria.

Friday, October 2, offers a workshop on aprons and batch cooking led by home cook Diana Sánchez, alongside a billiards championship at Llar de Lòria. In the evening, Auditori Rocafort hosts the play Del Walkman al TikTok by Escola de Teatre Entreacte.

The programme concludes on Saturday, October 3, with an intergenerational hydro-hiking walk to discover sites around Sant Julià de Lòria and nearby areas.

Some sessions will include users from the Centre Major and Creu Roja Andorrana's home teleassistance service. All events have limited spots and require advance registration at the Llar de Lòria cafeteria.
