  • Residency in August-September at Espai Escènic La Feréstec for research.
  • Backed by Andorra's Ministry of Culture and Comú d'Escaldes-Engordany.
  • Iglesias explores farewell themes; Les Somatents tackles youth housing crisis.

La Feréstec, the scenic space run by Animal Escola de Teatre, has selected two projects for its 2026 artistic residency from four submissions received this year.

The chosen proposals are Antologies d’un comiat by Carla Iglesias and Benvinguts al nostre desnonament by the collective Les Somatents. The artists will develop their work during August and September at Espai Escènic La Feréstec, which will serve as a dedicated space for research and experimentation.

The programme receives backing from Andorra's Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, as well as the Comú d'Escaldes-Engordany. It aims to bolster emerging scenic projects by providing artistic guidance, financial support and resources to foster fresh perspectives on art and contemporary issues.

Carla Iglesias, a 19-year-old artist and performer in her second year of Musical Theatre at Barcelona's Centre Superior d’Art Dramàtic Eòlia, will develop a piece centred on themes of farewell. The work will blend scenic languages including text, music and song.

Les Somatents comprises Maria Solsona, Toni Zamora, Laia Tarifa, Daniel Abreu and Lua Roca, all members of the first cohort of Andorra's National Youth Company. Their project will examine the housing crisis and its effects on young people in the country.
