Andorra Launches 2026-2027 School Year with 800 Teachers and Eva Bach Keynote

More than 800 teachers from Andorra's school system convened on Monday at the Andorra la Vella Congress Centre for the official launch of the 2026-2027 academic year.

Education and Universities Minister Ladislau Baró kicked off the event by highlighting the education system's need to adapt to social and technological changes. He stressed the shared role of families and schools in supporting children and young people, calling for relationships grounded in trust, dialogue and aligned objectives to promote academic achievement, emotional health and holistic growth.

The gathering featured a keynote speech by Spanish pedagogue, teacher and author Eva Bach, titled "Family and School: Weaving Complicities that Educate and Help Grow." Bach, who studied Education Sciences at the University of Barcelona, discussed the collective responsibilities of parents and educators. She presented ten key principles to strengthen ties among educational stakeholders, including mutual respect, empathy, open dialogue, assertiveness and clear communication, offering practical tools to enhance cooperation.

Bach brings deep expertise as a former teacher, trainer, speaker and family consultant, with a focus on emotional education. She has written 13 books on topics such as education, wellbeing and family relationships.

Organised by the Ministry of Institutional Relations, Education and Universities, the session provided Andorran School staff with a forum to reflect on current educational challenges ahead of the new term. Government officials described it as a reaffirmation of their commitment to high-quality education and teacher support.
