Ordino Councillor Targets Llorts-El Serrat Trail Extension for Riberamunt

Jordi Serracanta, Ordino's councillor for tourism, promotion and sports, has pinpointed the Llorts-to-El Serrat section of the Riberamunt trail as the immediate next challenge in its ongoing development.

The councillor told the Andorran News Agency (ANA) that the trail is performing strongly, with rising numbers of people spotted at entry points tied to the Camí Ral and Ruta del Ferro routes. Visits peak in summer afternoons and spring, without causing congestion. Started in the 2016-2020 term, the initiative has built a solid reputation and revived the historic Riberamunt name for the upper Ordino valley's communities.

Extending the route to El Serrat involves hurdles like crossing the river and navigating paved stretches of the Camí Ral, which can mislead walkers into assuming the path ends at Llorts. Improved markings would clarify the way forward to a marked trail from El Serrat into the Vall de Sorteny Natural Park, one of Ordino's biggest summer attractions. A seasonal bus service already runs from the village to the park.

This push fits Ordino's tourism plans, which spotlight natural sites, family outings and all-season options. The parish balances growth with its rural heritage—agriculture, grazing and landscapes—central to its UNESCO Biosphere Reserve standing and ability to handle rising residents.
