Andorra's French Cultural Season Unveils 38 Events for 2026-2027

Andorra's 21st French cultural season will offer 38 events across nearly all artistic disciplines during 2026-2027, organised by the French embassy to bolster ties with the Principality.
A key highlight is the new French Film Week, running from September 29 to October 6. Over seven days, nine recent French films—some freshly released in France, others awaiting premiere or arriving simultaneously—will screen free of charge in their original language with Catalan subtitles. French Ambassador to Andorra Nicolas Eybalin emphasised cinema's role in French culture and its power to mirror reality, stating it was "not normal" for Andorra to lack such French film programming. He noted similar festivals feature in cultural seasons elsewhere in Europe.
Music takes centre stage with several concerts. The Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse performs at the Auditori Nacional on June 5, 2027, in collaboration with the ClàssicAnd festival. Earlier, on October 16, the Choeur de l’Opéra National de Bordeaux presents Mozart's Requiem at the Santuari de Meritxell. On November 14 at the Auditori Nacional, French conductor Nathalie Marin will lead an orchestra in a Mozart piece alongside works by female composers, aiming to spotlight women's contributions to music.
Youth and educational initiatives form another pillar. The embassy will expand ties between Lycée Comte de Foix and Andorra's school system, building on last year's image education project with a photographer from Visa pour l’Image by advancing into vocational training. Students from both systems will produce video reports on current affairs. A participatory show on democracy will prompt discussions about public participation, voting rights and collective decision-making. In February, the Science Comedy Show will engage young people with science through humour.
The season involves 68 partners, including 10 programming collaborators, 23 sponsors and 35 cultural associations or institutions. It launches officially on September 17 at the Consell General with a performance by young singers from Philippe Jaroussky's academy, reinforcing cultural links with France's Occitania region.
