Andorra Showcases 20 New Literary Titles at Barcelona Book Fair

Andorra's literature and Pyrenean works featured prominently during the Matí d’Andorra session at the 44th Setmana del Llibre en Català in Barcelona on Saturday. Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Mònica Bonell took part in the event, which presented about 20 new titles from Andorran and Pyrenean publishers to showcase the region's literary production.

Bonell highlighted how Andorra's regular attendance at the fair extends past book displays, helping to create links with publishers, writers and audiences while spotlighting emerging Andorran voices. She stressed the vital role of the Catalan language in cultural output, noting that it thrives through writing, publishing, reading and new readerships.

The programme included six presentation segments on genres such as fiction, poetry, essays, graphic novels and young adult works, plus a poetry reading and book signings. Bonell pointed out that the roughly 240 titles at the stand demonstrate the work of publishers, organisations and authors in fostering a rich cultural landscape.

Andorra has joined the Setmana del Llibre en Català since 2012 and participated yearly from 2016 onward. This edition sees the Culture, Youth and Sports ministry coordinating at stand 32, in partnership with the Andorran Publishers Association and Llibre del Pirineu Association. The space promotes local and Pyrenean publishing, raising its profile across the region.
