Paul Kalkbrenner will headline the tenth edition of the Hibernation Festival in Pas de la Casa, organisers have announced, returning to Andorra five years after his sold-out appearance at the 2022 event.

Hibernation 2027 is scheduled for 19 to 21 March and will feature four stages running from 11am until 5am. Organisers are presenting it as the largest edition in the festival's history, with an expanded musical programme and new features intended to build on a decade that has drawn thousands of electronic music fans from across Europe.

The anniversary format combines daytime outdoor performances with nighttime indoor sessions. The outdoor stages will be free to enter and will operate between 11am and 7pm, while the paid indoor venues will host acts until 5am. According to organisers, the continuous offering is unique among European festivals.

Kalkbrenner is considered one of the leading figures in international techno. He reached a wide audience through the 2008 film Berlin Calling, which he starred in and scored, and notably through its track "Sky and Sand". Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has performed at major electronic music festivals worldwide and released his ninth studio album, The Essence, in 2025.

Tickets have been on sale since August, and promoters say the advance "Early Trust" campaign has set sales records. They attribute the response to the loyalty of audiences who have followed the festival over the years. Organisers put the average age of attendees at 33.

The remaining line-up has yet to be confirmed, with further acts expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Organisers say the Kalkbrenner announcement is only the beginning and hope the anniversary edition will strengthen Pas de la Casa's position as an international meeting point for electronic music fans.
