Meteorological service warns of strengthening anticyclone bringing warm air, with conditions intensifying next week. Civil Protection advises caution despite no official heatwave declaration yet.

- Sunny weekend ahead with mins above 15-16°C, no rain expected.
- Andorra la Vella forecast: 33°C Saturday, 32°C Sunday, 34°C Monday.

Andorra's meteorological service has issued a yellow alert for high temperatures across the country ahead of a sunny weekend, with maximums expected between 30°C and 33°C below 1,200m and further rises into next week.
The alert highlights intense heat driven by a strengthening anticyclonic ridge, drawing warm air from North Africa and reinforced by high-pressure perturbations west of the Iberian Peninsula. Minimums are forecast to stay above 15-16°C, with no precipitation expected. Civil Protection has urged caution amid the conditions, which do not yet meet criteria for a full heatwave but are set to intensify.
Saturday promises fully sunny skies. In Andorra la Vella, temperatures will range from a minimum of 16°C to a maximum of 33°C.
Sunday will see the ridge persist, ushering in more warm African air alongside suspended dust. Highs are projected at 32°C in Andorra la Vella, 28°C at 1,500m elevation, and 17°C at Pas de la Casa.
Monday will maintain stable, sunny weather with a fresh temperature surge, reaching 34°C in the capital and 30°C at 1,500m.
This follows recent stability after Thursday's yellow thunderstorm alert brought heavy rain and possible hail from an Atlantic front, succeeding Wednesday's 36°C peaks in central valleys. An orange heat warning had been active until 9pm that day, with elevated wildfire risks from dry conditions. Civil Protection's vegetation alert remains in place, though skies cleared Thursday afternoon.
