Andorran firefighters extinguished a small vegetation fire beneath Pic del Maià in the Sant Josep valley at Pas de la Casa.
The Andorra Fire Service received the alert at 13:54 on Monday about a smoke plume in the area. The blaze affected scrubland, junipers and pine trees across roughly 20 square metres.
An initial aerial assessment was followed by helicopter water drops, while three ground crews arrived with hand tools and water backpacks. Teams encircled the affected area, put out the flames and checked for hotspots. The fire was fully extinguished shortly after 5 p.m.
A heavy rainstorm then struck Pas de la Casa, lasting nearly an hour and saturating the ground to eliminate re-ignition risks. The response incorporated experience from recent fires at Coll de la Gallina and Ós de Civís.
