Andorra Sostenible Launches Week-Long Clean Up Day to Clear Litter from Nature

Andorra Sostenible's Clean Up Day campaign continued on Wednesday with schoolchildren from Pas de la Casa collecting litter in local natural areas, as part of the ongoing week-long drive to promote environmental stewardship.

Pupils from both Andorran and French schools in the parish took part in the activity on September 23, organized by Andorra Sostenible to raise awareness among young people about preserving the environment and preventing waste dumping. The children gathered rubbish from nearby outdoor spaces, reinforcing messages of responsibility and respect for nature.

The initiative follows similar efforts earlier in the week, including an event on Tuesday, September 22, where Minister for Hygiene, Environment and Agriculture Andreu Riba joined students to highlight the value of early environmental education. He noted that such activities help instill principles of nature preservation from a young age.

Running from September 21 to 27, the campaign encourages citizens, businesses and organizations to choose their own locations, dates and times for clean-up actions. Participants log waste data via the Litterati app and can share photos for Andorra Sostenible's social media channels, extending the international one-day format to increase engagement.
