Andorra Orders Recall of Salmonella-Tainted Fuet Extra Batch

Andorra's Ministry of Health has mandated the immediate withdrawal of batch 262014423 of Fuet Extra Exentis 170g from Catalan producer Can Duran following a salmonella detection alert.

The notification arrived via the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF). Officials are requiring all retailers across the Principat—ranging from large supermarkets to smaller outlets—that may have stocked the product to remove the batch promptly. The ministry is actively monitoring compliance.

Consumers who have purchased this batch, which has an expiry date of 1 August 2026, should not eat it and return it to the point of sale. The recall applies solely to this batch and product; other Can Duran items and lots remain unaffected.

No cases of foodborne illness linked to the product have been reported in Andorra so far. The ministry will continue tracking the situation and provide updates on any relevant developments.

Salmonellosis typically leads to gastrointestinal symptoms including diarrhoea, fever, abdominal pain, nausea and, in some instances, vomiting. Individuals who have consumed the batch and experience compatible symptoms are advised to consult their doctor, local primary care centre (CAP) or emergency services.
