Andorra's physiotherapy professionals commit to improving public healthcare system as 41st member
The Col·legi Oficial de Fisioterapeutes d’Andorra (COFA) has become the 41st member of the National Pact for Quality, Efficiency, and Sustainability in the Healthcare System. Health Minister Helena Mas and COFA Dean Théo Rogue signed the agreement in Andorra la Vella on Thursday.
The pact now includes representatives from political parties, parliamentary groups, public entities, professional colleges, and associations. Mas welcomed the addition, noting it broadens the range of perspectives shaping Andorra's healthcare framework for the coming years through a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach.
She described the initiative as a shared commitment to a high-quality, efficient public health system grounded in shared responsibility, equity, solidarity, and freedom to choose providers. COFA's board stated the move reinforces the profession's dedication to ongoing improvements, bringing physiotherapy expertise to create a more effective and sustainable care model. It also fulfills a decision from the college's most recent general assembly, where members voiced support for joining.
The pact outlines 162 action lines: 71% completed, 26% in progress, and 3% yet to start. Key achievements include €9.15 million invested in equipment at Nostra Senyora de Meritxell Hospital over the past year, approval of the 2026-2030 National Oncology Plan, launch of an adult vaccination schedule, opening of supported homes for mental health users, and establishment of a breast pathology unit.
