Andorra's Official College of Physiotherapists has joined the National Pact for Quality, Efficiency, and Sustainability in the Healthcare System as its 41st member.
Health Minister Helena Mas and COFA Dean Théo Rogue signed the agreement in Andorra la Vella on Thursday, bringing together political parties, parliamentary groups, public bodies, professional colleges, and associations.
Mas described the pact as a consensus for a high-quality, efficient public health system based on shared responsibility, equity, solidarity, and freedom of provider choice. She praised the physiotherapists' involvement for expanding the multidisciplinary voices shaping Andorra's healthcare priorities in the years ahead.
The COFA board said the step underscores the profession's focus on continuous improvement, adding physiotherapy input to build a more effective and sustainable model. It follows a recent general assembly where members endorsed joining.
Progress on the pact's 162 action lines stands at 71% complete, 26% underway, and 3% pending. Highlights include nearly €9.15 million in new equipment for Nostra Senyora de Meritxell Hospital over the past year, approval of the 2026-2030 National Oncology Plan, rollout of an adult vaccination calendar, opening of supported housing for mental health patients, and creation of a breast pathology unit.
