Andorra's AUTEA Supports 106 People in 2026 Amid Autism Service Growth

AUTEA, Andorra's autism support association, has supported 106 people since the start of 2026, continuing a steady rise in demand and service capacity.

Technical director Carolina Pastor shared the figure with Andorra's News Agency (ANA), noting sustained growth in both user numbers and organizational resources since 2019. In 2025, the association aided 153 unique individuals across its programs, with each person counted only once regardless of participation in multiple services.

Since 2023, AUTEA has carried out 52 autism spectrum disorder (ASD) assessments. Individuals arrive via health service referrals or self-requests and undergo neuropsychological evaluations to verify ASD or rule it out. Those not diagnosed with ASD are directed to suitable alternative resources.

Beyond diagnostics, AUTEA runs clinical and therapeutic interventions, social and community rehabilitation, and leisure initiatives. The leisure options promote friendships, group bonds, and healthy recreation without a strictly therapeutic focus. Family involvement features through the NIAS program, offering guidance for parents of children with ASD alongside dedicated sharing groups.

Pastor emphasized AUTEA's tight coordination with health and social services, streamlining referrals and resource awareness. The association plans to broaden this networked approach into education and justice sectors for more integrated ASD support. Its board recently refreshed, adding Inés Martí as a member.
