Andorran police arrested more than 30 people last weekend during intensified operations around the Hibernation electronic music festival in Pas de la Casa, targeting drug possession, drink-driving and assaults.

Authorities confirmed 17 tourist detentions for public health offences involving drugs, mainly cocaine and ecstasy. Seven arrests occurred Friday and Saturday at Riu Runer and the Franco-Andorran border controls. These included a 48-year-old man with 1 gram of cocaine; a 34-year-old man carrying eight pills, 2 grams of ecstasy and 0.7 grams of cocaine; a 33-year-old man with 0.95 grams of cocaine, 2.80 grams of hashish and 15.60 grams of marijuana; a group of three—a 36-year-old woman and men aged 33 and 34—with 4.12, 4.17 and 4.50 grams of cocaine respectively, plus 10 ecstasy pills; and a 25-year-old woman with one pill.

The other 10 took place in Pas de la Casa during the festival. Cases involved a 48-year-old with 1.2 grams of ecstasy, 0.6 grams of marijuana and two marijuana cigarettes; a 30-year-old woman with around 1 gram of MDMA and 5.1 grams of CBD; men aged 26 and 27 each with two ecstasy pills; and a 31-year-old man drinking in public while handling a package with four pills and 0.5 grams of cocaine.

Police highlighted one incident where a 28-year-old woman was caught with 4.2 grams of cocaine and 18 ecstasy pills. Her 30-year-old partner soon surrendered at the Pas de la Casa station, stating the drugs were his and his friends', carried by her to evade checks. After statements the next morning, officers arrested three associates: a man and two women aged 29, 31 and 33.

Drink-driving cases included five motorists aged 23 to 55, with alcohol levels from 0.95 to 2.13 grams per litre. A woman recorded the highest at 2.13 after crashing into a barrier on the CG-5 in Arinsal; she faced extra charges for driving outside permitted hours under a partial Batllia suspension and obstructing justice. A man at 1.94 grams crashed on the CG-2 near Soldeu. Another at 1.86 grams also had 0.9 grams of cocaine and 2.3 grams of hashish, refusing a drug test. Routine checks caught others: a 39-year-old man with 0.5 grams of cocaine, an expired licence and ITV who declined tests; a 30-year-old spotted by an off-duty officer; and a 52-year-old who tested positive for drugs after a collision at the Prada Casadet roundabout, facing public function and collective safety charges. Over the weekend, a 38-year-old female tourist registered 1.27 grams per litre.

Unrelated assaults led to two arrests: a 42-year-old non-resident Thursday evening in Andorra la Vella for attacking his brother, charged with offences against physical and moral integrity; and a 47-year-old man Sunday night in La Massana for assaulting his partner at home.
