Andorra Population Hits 89,368 with 1.9% Rise Driven by Colombians and Peruvians

Andorra's resident population reached 89,368 as of 31 March 2026, marking a 1.9% increase from the previous year with 1,705 additional residents, according to figures released this week by the Department of Statistics.
Growth varied across parishes. Canillo recorded the strongest rise at 6.7%, adding 409 people. Escaldes-Engordany and Encamp each saw 2.4% increases, with 380 and 325 new residents respectively. Ordino gained 157 residents for a 2.8% rise, La Massana added 249 for 2.1%, and Sant Julià de Lòria increased by 125 or 1.2%. Andorra la Vella had the smallest gain, with 60 more residents or 0.2%.
By nationality, the "other nationalities" group drove much of the expansion, rising 6.5% with 965 more people. Within this category, Colombians, Peruvians, and Argentinians showed notable gains, accounting for around a third of the segment's growth. Specific figures included 298 more Colombians, reaching 1,712; 162 more Peruvians, to 983; and 99 more Argentinians, to 3,333. These three groups represented 32.8%—or 559 people—of the overall population increase.
Andorran nationals grew by 351 or 0.9%, Spaniards by 283 or 1.4%, and French nationals by 249 or 6.3%. The Portuguese population declined by 143, or 1.7%.
Demographically, 73.4% of residents are aged 15-64, with 10.7% under 15 and 15.9% aged 65 and over.
Municipal census records stood at 93,852 people, up 0.6% from 93,338 a year earlier and 5% above the official estimate. The Department of Statistics attributes the gap to administrative data cleaning and validation differences.
