Andorran Woman Arrested for Hitting Boy on CG-2 Crossing in Incles

A 29-year-old Andorran woman has been arrested this week as the suspected perpetrator of a serious injury offence due to gross negligence after striking a 10-year-old boy on a pedestrian crossing on the CG-2 in Incles early Monday morning.

Police reports confirm she was driving southbound when the collision occurred. The woman tested negative for alcohol and drugs, and was within the speed limit. She remains on conditional release with her licence suspended, pending updates on the boy's condition.

The child suffered serious injuries and was first stabilised at the scene by emergency services before transfer by helicopter to Nostra Senyora de Meritxell hospital. He was then airlifted to a specialist facility in Barcelona for further treatment.

Investigators noted she only became aware of the boy after he landed on her vehicle's bonnet, at which point she stopped right away. No mechanical issues or dazzling conditions were found, pointing to possible distraction as a factor. An eyewitness account has been recorded, but further details are not public.

Authorities have provided no new medical updates on the boy, who was previously reported in intensive care and unresponsive. The driver's charges and status hinge on his prognosis.

The Incles case forms part of a busy week for police, who detailed multiple arrests on Friday. These included three tourists—two men aged 39 and 37, and a 31-year-old woman—stopped at the Riu Runer border crossing early Thursday while attempting to enter with small amounts of drugs: 0.5g cocaine, 1.8g heroin, and 4.1g tusi.

Four drivers were also detained for alcohol offences: a 32-year-old non-resident going the wrong way (1.91g/l blood alcohol), a 71-year-old after a parking lot crash in Encamp causing material damage (1.79g/l), a 31-year-old tourist (2.33g/l), and a 40-year-old man (1.44g/l).

Separately, early Friday, police arrested a 51-year-old man and a 37-year-old non-resident woman in an Ordino hotel after they allegedly assaulted each other during an argument. Both face charges related to offences against physical and moral integrity.
