Guardia Civil officers arrested three people at the Farga de Moles border crossing on 30 May after finding luxury goods worth €7,769.25 stolen from Andorra la Vella stores during a routine outbound customs inspection.
The stop happened around 6pm when agents pulled over a Spanish-registered vehicle heading toward Spain via the green lane for passengers with nothing to declare. Occupied by either two women and one man or two men and one woman—accounts differ—the driver and passengers showed obvious signs of anxiety, leading to a detailed search.
Officers uncovered 60 perfumes, nine handbags or wallets, and six pairs of premium sunglasses, some still fitted with store anti-theft devices. Questioned about the items, the occupants confessed to taking them from several shops in the capital, intending to sell them later in Spain. One report tallied a total of 75 premium-brand objects.
Identity checks showed one man subject to a restraining order against his wife, also in the car. He faces an extra charge of violating a court order, alongside the theft allegations.
The three suspects, investigated for property crimes, were released on provisional liberty. Officers handed proceedings to Investigative Court No. 1 in La Seu d'Urgell. The recovered goods remain stored at Guardia Civil premises in Farga de Moles for judicial disposal.
