Police in Andorra arrested a 23-year-old man in La Massana on Thursday night under judicial order for suspected crimes against property and legal traffic.

The Property Crimes Unit of the Judicial Police and Criminal Investigation Area had been investigating the suspect after around a dozen complaints lodged over the past year. The allegations center on fraud, falsified documents, and identity theft in vehicle sales.

Investigators say the man approached private sellers offering cars for sale. He created fake bank transfer proofs to persuade owners he had paid the agreed amount, prompting them to hand over the vehicles. The sellers never received the money.

The frauds caused more than €93,000 in total losses. During the court-supervised inquiry, police recovered nine of the vehicles taken in the scams. Officials suspect further cars may be involved.

The investigation continues.
