Andorran Police Arrest Tourists at Pas de la Casa with Ecstasy, Ketamine Hidden in Genitals

Andorran police have arrested a 31-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman at the Pas de la Casa border crossing after discovering ecstasy, ketamine, and MDMA hidden in the woman's handbag and intimate areas.

The pair, who were entering Andorra by car for a tourist visit, faced a routine narcotics check with a trained sniffer dog on Saturday. Both denied using or carrying any drugs when informed of the inspection.

The dog reacted strongly to the woman's handbag and genital region. Officers found two ecstasy pills, two precision scales, 60 small airtight bags suitable for packaging drug doses, and a glass jar containing a red substance used to colour and scent narcotics.

A female officer then performed a more thorough search. The woman voluntarily handed over a wallet hidden in her private parts, which contained six additional ecstasy pills, 31.13 grams of ketamine, and 4.44 grams of MDMA.

Authorities consider the haul evidence of intent to distribute, citing the drug quantity, scales, and packaging materials. The suspects face investigation for offences against public health, including smuggling narcotics into the Principality for possible sale.

Police maintain regular border controls to prevent drug entries at busy points like Pas de la Casa. No further details on the pair's nationalities have been released.
