Andorran Deputy Baró Questions Police Staffing, Pay, and Fleet

Pere Baró, deputy president and general councillor of the Social Democratic parliamentary group, has submitted a series of written questions to the Andorran government seeking detailed data on the Police Corps' current staffing, pay conditions and vehicle fleet.

The queries aim to provide an up-to-date overview of the service and its forward planning, focusing on human resources, working conditions and material assets. Baró requests the total number of officers currently assigned to the corps, broken down by department, rank, gender and age group. He also asks about plans to expand the workforce in coming years and how these align with expected retirements over the next five years.

On pay, the councillor seeks details of salary trends across the Police Corps over the past eight years, similarly segmented by department, professional category, gender and age, to assess changes in officers' remuneration.

The questions extend to the police vehicle fleet, including average vehicle age, the current maintenance schedule and outcomes from recent technical inspections. Baró inquires whether a fleet renewal plan is in place and, if so, its implementation timeline.

Baró stated that the goal is to secure sufficient human, material and financial resources so the Police Corps can deliver a quality public service suited to the country's present needs. He emphasised the need for a comprehensive picture of the force to address current and future security challenges.
