Núria Cleries Nerín took the oath on Wednesday morning as an inspector for Andorra's Judicial Administration Inspection Service (SIAJ) during a ceremony held before the Superior Council of Justice (CSJ).

In the proceedings, she vowed loyalty to the Constitution of the Principality of Andorra and promised to carry out her responsibilities with impartiality, independence, full compliance with the law, and adherence to professional secrecy duties tied to the position.

The CSJ stated that the appointment aims to strengthen the SIAJ amid its ongoing reorganization of functions, with the goal of maintaining the service's effectiveness and continuity. The council highlighted her extensive judicial background as essential for supervising and evaluating the operations of judicial bodies.

Cleries Nerín, who recently retired as a judge in Barcelona's juvenile court, has served in senior management positions in Spain via the General Council of the Judiciary and in Catalonia through the Generalitat. Her expertise is seen as pivotal for the inspection tasks.

The role lasts three years initially and can be renewed once. It entails reviewing and overseeing Judicial Administration activities to promote efficiency and ensure judges and administrative staff meet their obligations. The CSJ described the move as reinforcing commitments to quality, transparency, and the proper functioning of Andorra's judicial system.
