Andorra Research + Innovation (AR+I) has joined the International Science Council (ISC), the world's primary independent scientific organization, which unites more than 250 national academies, research bodies, and scientific institutions.
The move strengthens Andorra's global standing in research and knowledge, allowing participation in key international scientific forums, AR+I noted in a statement released yesterday. AR+I manager Marta Domènech emphasized that membership connects the country to the international scientific community while enabling contributions based on national expertise.
The Paris-based ISC, formed in 2018 from the merger of the International Council for Science and the International Social Science Council, promotes science as a global public good. It fosters collaboration across areas including sustainability, climate change, global health, open science, and the interface between research and public policy.
AR+I highlighted that joining the ISC grants access to worldwide studies and initiatives. It also provides a platform to share Andorra's knowledge in fields such as mountain environments, climate adaptation, sustainability, natural risks, and territorial innovation.
The affiliation underscores Andorra's commitment to evidence-based public policies and greater visibility on the international scientific stage.
