Andorra la Vella Councillor Defends Casa Pairal Elderly Centre Amid Complaints

Junior councillor Olalla Losada affirms high resident satisfaction at the Casa Pairal centre and highlights ongoing improvements plus monthly feedback sessions via the 'Us Escoltem' initiative.

Key Points

  • Olalla Losada counters Andreu Pedra's grievances, insisting no major problems exist.
  • Residents generally happy; improvements made to chairs, tables, and schedules.
  • 'Us Escoltem' programme enables monthly visits; only two concerns raised recently, now resolved.
  • Progress on centre's concession issues over past year.

Olalla Losada, junior councillor of Andorra la Vella, has defended the operations at the Casa Pairal elderly centre, responding to complaints from Andreu Pedra, president of the local seniors' association.

Losada maintained that the municipal team listens to user feedback and has made steady progress on issues tied to the centre's concession over the past year. She stressed that residents are broadly content with the services.

"I want to make it very clear that there are no problems at Casa Pairal. Seniors are generally happy there, and certain matters with the concession have been improving progressively," Losada said.

She pointed to specific changes, including adaptations to chairs and tables for better accessibility, along with schedule tweaks to avoid disruptions from concession activities.

Losada rejected suggestions that the council overlooks seniors' voices, citing the 'Us Escoltem' programme. Under this initiative, she and other officials visit the centre every month or so to gather direct input. In the latest meeting, just two individuals raised concrete concerns, both of which have now been addressed.

Her comments directly counter Pedra's recent grievances about the facility, though she noted the narrow scope of issues surfaced during official sessions.
