The Andorran government has opened registrations for an extraordinary A1-level official Catalan language exam to help frontier workers and residents meet certification needs for residence permit renewals due before February 2027.

A total of 100 places are available at the Sant Julià de Lòria Examination Centre on Carrer de les Escoles 30, assigned on a first-come, first-served basis following online sign-up completion.

Registrations run through the electronic headquarters from 8am on Wednesday, November 2, until 3pm on Friday, November 4, at a cost of €17.15 per candidate.

The session takes place on Friday, November 13. Written tests—covering oral and reading comprehension plus written expression and interaction—occur between 9.30am and 10.35am. Oral expression and interaction follows from 11am onward, based on individual schedules published on the official Catalan exams website starting November 10.

Results appear on the same site at 10am on December 2, after which those who pass can apply for their official diploma via the electronic headquarters.

The measure provides an extra chance to satisfy the language requirement linked to permit renewals, outside standard exam schedules.
