Special Olympics Andorra is hosting the XVII International Ski Trophy this weekend, from Friday 27 March to Sunday 29 March, bringing together 47 skiers from Andorra, Spain, Monaco, Portugal and France for a giant slalom competition at Grandvalira's Soldeu sector.

Organised by the Special Olympics Andorra sports federation and sponsored by Creand Fundació, the event features athletes supported by 15 coaches and 10 volunteers. The Andorran delegation includes 18 athletes and four coaches, Spain fields 15 athletes with five coaches, Monaco sends five athletes and two coaches, Portugal has five athletes and two coaches, and France contributes four athletes with two coaches.

The main event—a two-run giant slalom—takes place Saturday 28 March on the La Paniquera piste, with competitors racing across Soldeu-El Tarter pistes. Athletes arrive Friday afternoon, followed by a lunch and awards ceremony after the races.

Support comes from Canillo parish council, Grandvalira Social, AINA and Hotel Nòrdic. Creand Fundació has sponsored the federation since 2007 to promote social integration for people with intellectual disabilities through equal-opportunity sports at national and international levels. The initiative underscores sport's role in personal development, quality-of-life improvements and individual achievement.
