Andorra's women's under-16 football team delivered its biggest-ever victory, thrashing San Marino 5-0 in the UEFA Women's Under-16 Development Tournament in Strumica, North Macedonia.
The result, achieved under coach Catia Da Silva, surpassed previous records held by Andorran national teams. It eclipsed the under-15 men's 5-1 win over Bulgaria in 2023 and multiple 4-0 triumphs, including the under-21 men's victory against the Republic of Ireland and the under-17 men's against Gibraltar.
Noa Tesorero and Anna Bos each scored twice in the dominant display, with Enya Santaella adding a single goal to complete the rout. The team controlled the match from start to finish.
Earlier in the tournament, Andorra lost 2-0 to Kosovo before drawing 2-2 with the hosts. Anna Bos and Paula Ambroso netted in that game, and Andorra advanced on penalties thanks to strikes from Enya Santaella, Paula Ambroso, Clàudia Ballelles, Noa Tesorero, Kelli Lima and Chloe Kuntz.
The tournament concluded with one defeat, one draw resolved by spot-kicks, and the record-breaking win.
Meanwhile, Andorra's senior men's team, coached by Koldo Alvarez De Eulate, faces Kosovo in a friendly on 7 June at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Pristina. The opponents, led by German coach Franco Foda, include high-profile players such as Real Mallorca striker Vedat Muriqi.
