Andorran Silvio Moreira to Compete in Kata at European Senior Karate Championships

Silvio Moreira will represent Andorra in the kata event at the European Senior Karate Championships in Frankfurt, Germany, scheduled from May 20 to 24. The Andorran athlete is due to compete on Wednesday, May 20, starting at 11:00, with ambitions to surpass his performance from the previous year and gain further high-level continental experience.

Arriving with momentum from a recent gold medal at the Small States Games held in Andorra, Moreira credits the victory with boosting his mindset ahead of the continental showdown. "I have a lot of desire to go to this European Championships and improve on last year's result," he stated. "The Games have helped propel me, motivate me to believe in myself more, and go for it all."

This season has demanded adaptation to updated kata regulations, which emphasise reduced noise alongside greater technical refinement and fluid transitions. Moreira identifies his technical execution and body positioning as key strengths, ahead of physical force or quickness.
