Bike Show Naturland 2024 Draws Nearly 300 Registrations for Elite UCI Races and Family Events at 2,000m Andorra Venue

The third edition of the Bike Show Naturland is set for 30 and 31 May at the 2,000m facilities in Naturland, La Rabassa, Sant Julià de Lòria, with the Cross Country Marathon World Cup as the centrepiece event alongside UCI-ranked mountain bike races.

Organised by Ocisport, the weekend blends elite-level competition with inclusive options for amateurs, families and young riders. Registrations have reached nearly 300, with organisers targeting around 600 participants—matching last year's 580—to respect venue capacity limits.

Saturday opens with the Shimano SuperCup Massi cross-country Olympic race, a C1 UCI event on a 4km circuit where lap counts vary by category. Points earned since 2 May count toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic rankings, drawing top athletes like Mexico's Pan-American champion Gerardo Ulloa and Spain's Jofre Cullell. The afternoon features the SuperCup Youth race for ages 6 to 14.

Sunday's highlight is the Cross Country Marathon World Cup, limited to the top 120 riders from more than 28 countries. For the first time, the entire course stays within Andorra, covering 68km with 2,145m of positive elevation gain across three laps on the same demanding high-mountain circuit. This format boosts spectator access near the central zone, which will offer refreshments and services. The open Scott Marathon runs concurrently, with 22km, 44km and 68km options for pros and recreational riders.

Ocisport CEO Albert Balcells called it an "event 360" designed for broad appeal, ensuring "everyone who rides a bike has a place" while enhancing visibility. He noted the Olympic stakes elevate its profile, positioning Naturland on the global calendar.

Sant Julià de Lòria mayor Cerni Cairat described the event as consolidated after three years, praising its role in sustainable tourism, natural showcase and values like effort, teamwork and resilience—especially through youth racing. It coincides with the parish's Diada de Canòlich celebrations.

Tourism Minister Jordi Torres highlighted government and Andorra Turisme backing to promote mountain landscapes and secure international exposure, with participants from over 28 nationalities driving positive publicity and economic returns.

Naturland director Miquel Llanas emphasised its value beyond skiing season, spotlighting the Bike Center and La Rabassa while crediting collaboration among local, tourism and organising partners.
