FC Andorra Fall 0-2 to Ceuta After Early Red and Own Goal

FC Andorra suffered a 0-2 home defeat to AD Ceuta in their final match of the season at the Nou Estadi de la FAF in Encamp, played before 2,121 spectators. The loss prevented the team from breaking their club record of 59 points in professional football, leaving them on 58 points ahead of their final away fixture against Burgos.

The game turned early when referee Alejandro Ojaos Valera showed a straight red card to Petxa in the 9th minute for a high-footed challenge on Anuar. Moments later, at the 11th minute mark, Martí Vilà inadvertently scored an own goal after a miscommunication with goalkeeper Nico Ratti on a goal kick, as the ball bounced awkwardly into the net.

Reduced to 10 men, FC Andorra dominated possession but struggled to create clear chances. Marc Cardona limped off injured around the half-hour mark, replaced by Manu Nieto. Opportunities came from Cerdà's mobility and Villahermosa's through balls, with Carrique testing Ceuta keeper Pedro López on a Cerdà assist and Nieto forcing a save with a powerful shot late in the first half. Nieto also went close after beating López inside the area but shot wide while off-balance.

At halftime, Ratti made way for Owono due to Achilles tendon issues. The second half saw continued Andorran pressure, but Ceuta doubled their lead in the 66th minute when Bassinga tapped in a rebound after Betancourt outjumped Vilà. The goal survived a lengthy VAR check for offside.

Substitutions included Minsu and Lautaro for Álex Calvo and Villahermosa in the 72nd minute, and Álvaro Martín for Marc Domènech late on. Nieto had a goal disallowed for offside, and Cerdà and Minsu created further threats, but Andorra could not score. Ten minutes of added time yielded no breakthrough as fatigue set in.

Coach Carles Manso expressed disappointment post-match, calling Petxa's dismissal a quick way to ruin the game and noting a sense that referees sometimes view the team unfavourably. Yellow cards went to Villahermosa (8'), Vilà (52'), Owono (79'), Carrique (83') and Lautaro (84') for Andorra, plus Ahmed (21'), Zalazar (75') and Josema (79') for Ceuta.
