FC Andorra Fall 0-2 to Ceuta After Early Red and Own Goal

FC Andorra suffered a 0-2 defeat to AD Ceuta in their final home match of the season at the Nou Estadi de la FAF in Encamp, attended by 2,121 spectators.

The game turned early when referee Alejandro Ojaos Valera showed a straight red card to defender Petxa in the 9th or 10th minute for a high-footed challenge on Anuar. From the ensuing goal kick, a miscommunication between goalkeeper Nico Ratti and Martí Vilà led to an own goal in the 11th or 12th minute, giving Ceuta the lead.

Despite playing with 10 men for nearly the entire match—and briefly nine after Marc Cardona's injury forced his substitution by Manu Nieto around the 30th minute—FC Andorra dominated possession. They created chances, including efforts from Villahermosa, Cerdà, Carrique and Nieto, but Ceuta goalkeeper Pedro López made key saves. At halftime, Ratti, returning after limited play this season, was replaced by Owono due to Achilles tendon issues.

Ceuta doubled their advantage in the 66th minute through Bassinga, who finished a rebound after Betancourt outjumped Vilà. The goal survived a lengthy VAR review for offside. FC Andorra pushed late with substitutes including Minsu, Lautaro and Álvaro Martín, but chances from Nieto and others were ruled offside or missed the target. Ten minutes of added time yielded no goals as fatigue set in.

Carles Manso's side, missing defenders like Bomba, Molina, Imanol, Edgar González and the suspended Alende, end the home campaign on 58 points, short of the club record of 59 in professional football. They travel to Burgos next weekend for the season finale.

Ceuta, coached by José Juan Romero and arriving with a depleted squad after a long journey, move to 55 points. Yellow cards went to Villahermosa (8'), Martí Vilà (52'), Owono (79'), Carrique (83') and Lautaro (84') for Andorra, plus Ahmed (21'), Zalazar (75') and Josema (79') for Ceuta.
