The sixth edition of the endurance cycling challenge *Quilòmetre 0* will start tomorrow at 6am from Madrid's Puerta del Sol, bringing around 100 cyclists to Andorra over 724 kilometres to be covered in a maximum of 100 hours.

Organised by Madrid adventurer Miguel Silvestre, the event tests both physical limits and mental resilience through sustained effort, self-overcoming, and camaraderie. Silvestre, who avoids labels like coach, focuses on guiding participants through personal transitions by pushing their boundaries, drawing from experiences such as supporting cancer survivors in Nepal's Reto Pelayo Vida, aiding Àlex Roca in the Titan Desert, and assisting people with intellectual disabilities in extreme mountain bike races.

Cyclists manage their own pacing and stages freely. Top finishers typically ride with minimal rest, while most complete the route in four stages. This year's standout challenge lies not in elevation but in the isolation and intense heat of the Monegros desert.

On Tuesday, ahead of the start, participants finalised preparations for what promises to be a transformative journey.
