The third edition in Sant Julià de Lòria drew 465 participants across five events honoring teacher Marc

Samu Ponce Álvarez and Laura Orgué Vila won the flagship Gallina Xtrem race at the third Rocanòlich Memorial Marc Pimienta, held in Sant Julià de Lòria on Friday, May 9, 2026. The event drew a record 465 participants across five modalities, exceeding the original limit of 450 bibs, which sold out days earlier.

Organized by the Centre de Formació Professional in Aixovall and its students, the gathering honored Marc Pimienta, a teacher at the center and keen sportsman who died in a cycling accident. It mixed competition with community spirit, featuring a botifarrada for all finishers and emphasizing remembrance alongside races.

The Gallina Xtrem covered 15km with over 1,300m of elevation gain and started at 9am, attracting 104 runners. The most popular was the 9km Volta a Nagol with 600m climb, drawing 191 entrants from 10am; Duncan Cescato and Núria Muntada Gimeno prevailed there. The 3km inclusive walk, including a tribute at Plaça de la Germandat, had 76 participants from 10:10am. The new 25km Rodanòlich bike route launched at 11am with 52 cyclists, and the Rocaxics children's race ran from 2-4pm with 42 competitors.

Organizers praised the involvement of students, teachers, sponsors, and volunteers for creating a vibrant atmosphere and high participant satisfaction. The day reinforced bonds within the educational and sports communities, with preparations already starting for a fourth edition next year.
