Andorran rider Xavi Cardelús arrives at Balaton Park this weekend for the fourth round of the World Supersport Championship, determined to overcome a difficult start to his debut season with Cerba Yamaha Racing.
The Hungarian circuit hosts the event for the second consecutive year. Cardelús earned strong results there last season, qualifying 10th for the first race and eighth for the second. He aims to replicate those performances after recent troubles, particularly a heavy crash in the Superpole session at the Assen round that derailed his weekend and both races.
Those setbacks have limited him to just two championship points so far this year, compared to 15 at this stage last season. "We're having a season start to forget because every weekend, for one reason or another, we haven't been able to reach the positions we know we can achieve," Cardelús said.
The weekend schedule includes the Superpole today at 16:00 to set the grid, followed by races tomorrow and Sunday at 14:00.
