Around 200 people took part in the 11th Tomb Lauredià non-competitive walk in Sant Julià de Lòria on Saturday, matching participation levels from the previous three editions since the event's revival. The family-oriented activity encourages physical activity while showcasing the parish's natural surroundings via three routes tailored to different ages and fitness levels.
Sports councillor Marc Ferré expressed satisfaction with the turnout from local residents and nearby parishes. He noted about 70 participants on the long route, 65 on the medium, and 55 on the short one. Ferré thanked his department's work on trail marking and preparation, ensuring everyone could enjoy the day.
Organizers continue to gather feedback to refine the event. Changes include starting via the Rocafort path to avoid peak heat. "We've aimed for these numbers since bringing back the Tomb and keep making enhancements," Ferré said, adding that the team remains open to suggestions and focused on steady improvements.
All routes started and finished at Plaça de la Germandat. The 14-kilometre long route, with 1,035 metres of positive elevation gain, began at 8am and went through Coll de Jou, Rocafort path, Aixovall, Nagol path, Sant Serni de Nagol, Solana path, Aixirivall, Mas path, and Sant Romà d’Auvinyà.
The 9-kilometre medium route, rising 735 metres, set off at 9am through Coll de Jou, Rocafort path, Aixovall, Nagol path, and Sant Serni de Nagol, before returning via Solana path.
The 4-kilometre short route, with 325 metres of ascent and suited for families, started at 10am along Nagol path, Sant Serni de Nagol, and Solana path.
The event wrapped up with a communal rice dish and inflatables in the square.
