FC Andorra has signed 30-year-old left-back Andoni López on a free transfer from SD Ponferradina to strengthen its left defensive flank.

The Barakaldo native, born on April 5, 1996, has joined the Tricolors on a one-season deal with an optional additional year. At 1.87 metres tall, the Basque defender offers physical strength, good ball control and the ability to push forward effectively.

López arrives after a strong season in Primera Federación with Ponferradina, where he featured regularly and helped the team reach the promotion play-off final. He contributed five goals and five assists during the campaign.

A graduate of Athletic Bilbao's youth ranks, he has amassed 86 Segunda División appearances with teams including Almería, Elche and Tenerife, scoring once and assisting six times.

The club announced the move this morning as it prepares for its fourth professional season. López addresses the need for experienced depth at left-back ahead of Monday's medical checks and first training session, followed by the traditional pre-season camp in Murcia.
