FC Andorra Targets Two Wingers Amid Cerdà's Likely Exit

FC Andorra is targeting two wingers to complete its squad as the transfer window nears its close, amid the likely departure of Josep Cerdà.

The club's sporting directorate, led by Jaume Nogués, has shifted focus to bolstering the flanks after securing 11 new signings this summer, including centre-back Lautaro Spatz from Villarreal B. Officials view the defence as settled, with goalkeeper spots filled by Pau López, Nico Ratti and Jan Lagunas, plus full-backs Juan Sebastián and Andoni López. They now seek depth and flair on the wings, prioritising two dedicated wide players, while keeping open the possibility of a third midfielder signing if a standout opportunity arises.

The push for reinforcements has gained urgency due to Cerdà's probable exit. The Pollensa-born winger, whose contract expires this year and carries a €5 million release clause, is drawing strong interest from RCD Mallorca and Girona FC. FC Andorra values him at €3 million and is prepared to negotiate, but Mallorca's current bid stands at €2 million. With no rush to conclude, the club expects talks to extend if needed.

Of the 11 arrivals, only Ajax loanee Julian Rijkhoff is on loan, with an affordable purchase option. The remaining wingers could arrive similarly, targeting promising talents needing minutes.

New signing Andoni López, a 30-year-old Basque full-back with experience in Spain's Segunda División and Primera RFEF, was presented on Tuesday. He cited the club's ambitious project and attacking style as key draws, having faced Andorra in a prior play-off final with Ponferradina. López described himself as an offensive, competitive full-back with strong ball-playing ability, ready to provide maturity to a young dressing room and contribute on and off the pitch.

Four players in their final contract year—Diego Alende, Martí Vilà, Thomas Alcaraz and Cerdà—have received extension offers, with only Cerdà declining so far. Pre-season preparations continue amid a sanction tied to ex-coach Eder Sarabia, which officials expect to resolve soon, allowing full player registrations.
