FC Andorra Nears Deal for Ajax Striker Julian Rijkhoff

FC Andorra is advancing towards signing Dutch striker Julian Rijkhoff from Ajax, as the club seeks to bolster its forward options ahead of the new season.

The 21-year-old, born on January 25, 2005, in Purmerend, remains under contract with Ajax until June 2027. However, he does not feature in the first-team plans under coach Míchel, with the Dutch club intending to loan him to Jong Ajax in the Eerste Divisie. His market value stands at €750,000, following Ajax's €1.5 million repurchase from Borussia Dortmund two years ago.

Rijkhoff shone on loan at Almere City in the Dutch second tier last season, scoring 17 goals in the Eerste Divisie and two more in the cup, for a total of 19 goals and four assists in 44 appearances across all competitions. He led Almere's league scoring and topped the under-21 charts in the division with his sharp positioning and finishing. Despite Almere missing promotion, the stint marked his best professional campaign, building on limited first-team exposure at Ajax—including 11 appearances and a Conference League debut against Bodø/Glimt in February 2024—and prior youth development at Dortmund from 2021.

Currently, FC Andorra's pure centre-forwards are limited to Lautaro de León and Aitor Uzkudun, with Jordi Cano as a versatile option. Rijkhoff would address this gap as the tenth signing, pending finalization alongside centre-back Lautaro Spatz from Villarreal B to reach 11 incomings. Four more players are needed to complete the squad, while midfielder Cerdà is among likely departures.

Interest in Rijkhoff has also come from other Dutch and foreign clubs. No final agreement has been confirmed.
